family rules blogging. fact.

shirt: thrifted // skirt: down east basics // shoes: ross

okay… so i know i said last friday that i would be posting on saturday..

that plan failed.

but i don’t care,

because i got to spend the day with my lovely family and play and get soaked in the little kiddie pool, thanks to miss harleycorn (see the little mischievous gorilla below).

and every night after work this week has been busy.

this is harley, my adorable niece.

gavin, my other boyfriend. i mean nephew. hehe. when nic and i first started dating, gav would flirt with me so we called him my other boyfriend. nic has always been a little bit jealous of our relationship. ;) hah.

mr. sean, a.k.a. pumpkin, chillin’ on the floor.

jammie time.

helicopters are exciting to 2 and 3 year olds.

they like to go on walks before bedtime when they visit grandma.

i love these babies, and how cute are they? so lucky to call them my niece and nephews.

they’re getting a little brother soon too!

i can’t wait for this saturday. i get to do bridals photos for this couple, the same two i did engagements in payson for and shared a couple weeks ago.

they are so cute!

and their wedding is next friday. so excited for them!

i will be back to my usual blogging schedule, promise.

guten tag.

Cute pictures. Missing you! When you going to come spend some time with your “other” family. :D

Betsy Love Lds Author - May 11, 2012 - 12:12 am

Cute pictures. When are you going to come see your “other” family? :D

skin and bones.

today i had to make a phone call to an insurance company and ask for a certain document,

she yelled at me for 5 minutes straight, telling me how i had no business asking for that information.. blah blah blah.

(i had every right to be asking… it has everything to do with the purpose of, gee.. i don’t know, making it possible for someone to buy a home to live in!)

and when i responded all nice and polite, she hung up on me.

i spent the next hour crying.

you may think i’m a big baby or a sissy for crying,

but really, i don’t like getting yelled at.

especially when i have no reason to be yelled at.

maybe she was having a bad day or something..

that still is no excuse to be mean and treat someone like that.

i really can’t stand the negativity and rudeness of people in this world.

it makes me so sad that people treat eachother this way.

we are all human.

we all have skin and bones.

we all have emotions, faults, goals, passions.

no one is above anyone else.

so don’t think you can treat someone less than you should be treated.

it’s downright immature.

there’s my sermon for the day.

go give of yourself today, treat others with kindness, make someone smile, you’re more likely to get what you want out of life if you live positively.

until next time,

xoxo.sarah

p.s. tonight i will soak up some much needed meditation, exercise at the gym, pray and study the scriptures, watch some positive-happy-go-lucky disney shows, eat some ice cream to cancel out my workout, and tomorrow i will return with better spirits and pretty pictures.

rachel - May 10, 2012 - 10:10 pm

That is just awful!!! I probably would have cried too, just so you know :)

selfporporportrafied. and some lovely glasses.

shirt: my mom’s closet. she gave it to me // jeans: burlington (like i said, LOVE these jeans a lot) // sandals: payless // glasses: warby parker // hat: forever21

so i went with sort of a filmy feel for these. i’ve never really done the red hues on my photos before.. i think i’m kind of in love with it.

i love selfportraits and shooting for myself, no expectations from anyone but myself.

so i’m free to create however i want.

i came across some beautifully written articles and blogs yesterday.

please love them with me:

i am so so so in love with the freedom experiment blog. such powerful words. i especially love this post that alex beadon recommended in her wonderful wednesday post.

i really love this scrumptious, pretty pantone tart posted by shimmerlikegold.

this article about lucky people vs. unlucky people.

these super super cute camera straps from simply bloom photography’s new shop: bloom theory

(if they weren’t so expensive, i’d buy the gray one on the left right this second.)

i hope you have a fabulous day today and don’t let anything stand in your way.

ciao.

Loving the hat and the messy hair. You’re so good at self-portraits Sarah. It is probably the hardest thing to do.

I know I can’t really do it… LOL.
Keep it up!

2nd picture I love the most the anonymous ones are amazing where they can’t tell who you are. I love those.

Kaye Murphy - May 3, 2012 - 6:05 pm

LOVE IT. I have a red holga :D wish we could go shoot em off together. LOVE Those camera straps!

Sarah - May 3, 2012 - 6:52 pm

ah!! a red one? that’s so cool! i wish we could too! seriously, someday. some. day. why can’t plane rides be cheap? seriously.

Sarah - May 3, 2012 - 6:53 pm

thanks rose! haha. it is definitely super hard! half the time my shots aren’t even in focus. ;)
the “anonymous” ones are some of my favorites too!

Seriously saving up to have amazing family pictures taken by you sometime!!!!

i hate coming up with post titles. so i resolved to this one.

shirt: sears..? i think // skirt: antique store.. don’t know why it was there, brand is old navy // shoes: thrifted // belt: charming charlie

okay, funky lighting, shifted clothes, and ugly hair. what’s the deal?

(the hairs didn’t want to cooperate for anything yesterday. if i take time to primp and make my outfit perfect, nic will lose interest and not want to do the photos, so it’s “now or never” and we were losing light.)

i thought if i chopped my hair, it would be at least a tad (even a teeny tiny) less greasy.

fooled me there, hairs!

it’s back to grease, nonstop.

time for new shampoo/conditioner.

does sephora and other beauty stores have samples of nice hair products?

i’m about ready to pay up the wall for something to stop this madness.

~

i have the opportunity for a new experience coming up.

i get to be a mentor for a lovely lady soon.

they say you can’t grow if you stay in your comfort zone.

this is definitely out of my comfort zone,

and i can’t wait to see what great things come from it.

~

tonight i am queezy.

i’m nauseous and every time i turn around i feel i’m about to toss my cookies.

literally..

i ate 4 cookies today..

hoping it goes away so i don’t have to miss work tomorrow.

~

i will have lots of fun photos for you tomorrow. with some editing that is a bit out of my norm.

but i love them.

stay tuned, friends.

~

bonne nuit.

fangirl moments.

supernaturaloholics // beautiful warm, but not hot, night after swimming // i made the colloseum with my honey (on purpose… okay, by accident. looked better in person) // i work at the tallest building in phoenix // takin’ a walk to starbucks on the beautiful cloudy day we had a couple days ago // my man has got some mad hops, yo. he’s addicted to basketball.

~

another goal: take better, more interesting instagram photos. yawn.

~

panic. panic!!!!

you know that moment, while thinking about a fun baby shower happening today for an awesome lady, miss all cute millie (from amelia kate photography),

and you realize,

oh hey… she’s friends with 2 people i really look up to and admire.

those two lovely ladies are stunning Natalie Norton and gorgeous Cami Dunn.

and you panic.

~

i will not freak out. i will not have my fangirl moment like i did with Angie and Matt from Sloan Photographers 2 years ago..

i will be calm and cool. calm. and. cool.

okay, knowing me, i will probably freak out anyways, no matter how much pep talk i give myself.

i’ll end up saying something completely dumb.

~

when it’s all over i’ll give a report of my blubbering moments, for your amusement.

~

have a beautiful day!

xoxo.sarah

Betsy Love Lds Author - April 29, 2012 - 4:03 pm

I’m confused about the blubbering part? And Katie? Which Katie? Is that Millie’s mom? I’m so confused.

Sarah - April 29, 2012 - 8:16 pm

What the heck. What are you talking about mom? Haha. The only “Kate” I mentioned is Amelia Kate (she goes by Millie too.) our wedding photographer. Haha.
And I was saying I would have acted ridiculous because I was nervous to meet 2 photographers I look up to.
